vision - yes it shows a view, but its quite basic. a bit flirty, a bit naughty, but also cute, and maybe a bit romantic due to the backstory of the character. so i give it 3.5 stars
originality - yes as an original character yes it has some originality, but the pose, as well as the theme is a bit overdone in this time of year, nothing wrong with that, i actually like the way its done, but 3 stars due to its general use by many artists.
technique - heres where the image shines, the softness of the face (the eyes!) the way the body seems so natural. i like the way everything is drawn (and the smudgy shadows! very soft)everythings just so soft, dunno how you did it, but i like it. great show of skill.
impact - hmmm. this one was hard, yes its overdone, yes its adorable (and sexy???) but does it impact the viewer? i can say it has a strong "probably"
it really depends on who likes pokemon, who likes the character, who likes christmas, and who likes a little bit naughty situations. (not that this is naughty, but people who do associate it that way will have more of a reaction then others
ok onward to basic general critique.
her right leg seems a bit...warped? it seems to stretch and turn in a way that seems awkward, maybe its just my lack of anatomy training, but it does seem a bit odd to me. otherwise she does still seem very fluid (thats a good thing) shes not ridgid, also she is very soft looking.
the shadows look nice also. as do her eyes (how do you DO that?) awesome eyes are awesome.
anyway the package has awesome looking wrapper stuff that is quite pretty and her hair (ring?) is very well shaded.
oh before i forget her right arm (the one holding the kissy plant (i cant spell missletoe)) anyway at the elbow it seems very very skinny, like its not connecting at the elbow properly.
dunno again if thats my lack of knowledge on the pokemon but it seems odd in the image.
Allright so, Hi! Im gonna review this piece. If thats okay.
Lets start out with the good. The coloring is beautiful and probably one of the reasons I added you to my watch in the first place, the shading and the highlights just work perfectly. The pose works despite the right leg bending unaturally and the overall figure works nicely as well. I also love how the hair is pretty much the size of the body.
Enough with the praise here it comes. First of all the eyes. now the colored part (forgot the name for those) is placed as it should but the white is weird. The right eye is tilted a bit where as the left is completely vertical and its also placed up higher than the right eue. Also the black dots on the hair just comes of unnatural. Of course I wouldnt know if its intentional, but if it isnt I would suggest trying to make it blend better with the purple and not just like something that has been attached. Lastly, the boxes she´s sitting on has some weird-ass dimensions, it definently doesnt look solid.
Anyways, that was all I could really come up with. The piece overall is great, and I especially appreciate the line-less style and the coloring is (as i´ve said) fantastic.
I give this piece my score of A out of X - Great piece
